BRYN MAWR RESIDENCE

“A modern house that hugs you”.  That was our client’s initial objective, and we loved taking that idea into design.  The overall concept of the residence was to hierarchically organize the primary functions of the program into a series of masses stepping the residence back in height.  The single story master wing and one and a half story living room are linked by a human scale entry and floating canopy tying the large block limestone masses together and embracing the resident or visitor with warmth.

Utilizing rain chain catchment systems and a rooftop garden, the residence pays respect to the natural environment through its sustainable systems and its climactically appropriate material pallet and landscape.
